Ba Ky bakedgoods - Saturday, February 26
Ba Kỳ bakedgoods is a personal project by partners, Jenny and Daniel, that started as a way for Jenny to connect to her family’s history and culture. Many of the recipes behind Ba Kỳ goodies are ones her grandfather used in his own wholesale bakery in Vietnam, before he and his family fled to the U.S. as refugees. Jenny and Daniel add a modern, Southern Californian flair to the desserts, resulting in treats that recreate the experience of growing up as an American-born child in an immigrant family. The importance of family is present in every aspect of Ba Kỳ, even its name, “Ba Kỳ” is an homage to Jenny’s grandfather that means “father of Kỳ”. Their food is meant to be shared with loved ones and inspire a sense of togetherness and joy with each bite. With every box, Ba Kỳ strives to show that food itself is a type of language, one that anyone can access and use to express their love for their family and pride in their culture!*

I was so excited for tea time, and Chunky Paper surely delivered! Service was fantastic. Tea time was delicious- that oolong blondie was sooooo good. The store is just the cutest. I can't wait for them to do it again!
I love shopping at Chunky Paper, but this was my first tea time and my first time trying the sweet treats from Ba Ky Bakedgoods. Chunky Paper is a beautiful place to have tea. The staff were welcoming and the service was terrific. I absolutely loved the tea and the pretzel, pandan honeycomb cake, oolong blondie, and kumquat and soursop cookies. The price was very reasonable. It's a cool and lovely spot for an intimate tea for two.
