The Chinese zodiac has been a fascination to me growing up, so I wanted to created a whimsical series of all twelve animals as store owners and imagine the type of business they would run. These shops are also a tribute to the generations before me, our parents and grandparents, who became anchors in our community and paved the way for our future. Seeing lucky charms or superstitions in stores are not so common anymore, so I wanted to include them in each piece, however big or small.
