'Pure Heart Shiro' is inspired by a childhood game along with a recent one that I played on the Nintendo Switch. Growing up I spent a lot of time on the family computer since I was not allowed on game consoles, and Pure Heart Baekgu was one that I spent countless hours playing on. A story about a lost puppy that is on a venture to reunite with his owner is told through a multi level platformer and is a game that I could never forget. The dog in the painting however, is Shiro from Shin Chan, or 흰둥이 from 짱구. I loved watching this show growing up and was delighted to see a new game release for the franchise. I wanted to combine my two favorite games together for this painting, and portray a breath of fresh air with the vibrant blue sky and greenery that exists in both games.
