I spent last summer in my best friend's Brooklyn apartment learning to live the slow life. Every weekend, when work was over, we'd do laundry and make rice and eggs for dinner—rote, uninteresting tasks that I came to find beautiful in the pink of the mid-July sun. Also, the neighborhood was called Sunset Park. All the more befitting.
